Academies and free schools gain access to GovernorLine
The remit of the free GovernorLine advice, information and support service has been extended to include governors of academies and free schools.
The confidential service, which is managed by Worklife Support on behalf of the Department for Education, has been operating since 2012. Its trained advisers, who are also school governors themselves, are available on a phone helpline on 08000 722181, or can be contacted by email through the GovernorLine website.
The website, which also includes links to general articles and information on key issues affecting governors, is overseen by an advisory board, drawn from the National Governors’ Association (NGA), National Co-ordinators of Governor Services (NCOGS), Information for School and College Governors (ISCG) and the DfE.
