The EYFS: legal responsibilities and purpose
The EYFS is a statutory framework (established in 2008) that consists of legal requirements plus statutory guidance to which providers should have regard, supported by non-statutory practice guidance. A new EYFS framework will go into effect on 1 September 2012.
