To mark Self-Harm Awareness Day (1 March), a group of charities has joined together to challenge misconceptions about why children and young people self-harm.

The government’s policy statement More great childcare included the introduction of Early years Teachers (Graduate) and Early Years Educators (Level 3) qualifications to support early years providers in ensuring that those they employ to work with babies and young children become increasingly skilled and professional.

A study has shown that more able pupils in England achieve at broadly the same level in maths tests aged 10, but fall behind able pupils from other countries by the age of 16.

The Department for Education has announced that applications for the third round of the National Scholarship Awards will begin on 8 April.
