Nutrition guidelines for young children published
The School Food Trust has published new guidelines on nutrition for young children.
The information sets out what constitutes a healthy diet for young children and offers advice on planning menus and encouraging children in the early years to eat well.
The School Food Trust produced the voluntary guidelines following reports that some young children were being given food more suited to adults. It said that over a fifth of children were overweight or obese by the time they started school.
See the BBC website for more on this story. The guidelines are available on the School Food Trust website.
