Overview of recruitment responsibilities
The governing body is responsible for all staffing matters at a school, deciding the numbers of teaching and support staff. When a member of staff leaves, it is the governing body who will decide whether or not to replace them. Governors lead the process of making appointments to the senior leadership team.
