Elizabeth Holmes
After gaining a degree in Politics and International Relations, Elizabeth studied for a PGCE at the Institute of Education in London and taught in secondary schools in London, Oxfordshire and West Sussex before leaving full-time teaching to write in the fields of education and health.
Over the last ten years, Elizabeth has had many books published including The NQT Handbook, FAQs for NQTs, Teacher Well-being: Looking after yourself and your career in the classroom, What Next After School? and FAQs for TAs. She edits the CPD Update ebulletin and contributes the Education article annually to Whitaker’s Almanack as well as editorial content for British Qualifications and British Vocational Qualifications.
Elizabeth has a specific interest in the well-being of both teachers and pupils alike and ensures that this theme runs through all that she writes and speaks about. In addition to her work in education, Elizabeth has an MA in Creative Writing and Personal Development, specialising in the use of creative writing as a therapeutic tool in a variety of settings including schools, prisons and hospitals.
