    Summary of contents

Learning Languages Through Fairy Tales is a thinking skills approach from primary schools based on award-winning research conducted by the Northumberland Grid for Learning. It is a resource made to fully support language teaching in primary schools. There are two different fairy tales in the book, presented as animated stories on the accompanying CD-Rom. Each fairy tale is translated four times to offer a language course in French, German, Spanish and Italian. The familiar narrative of the fairy tales helps children’s understanding of language – using the pictures in these widely recognisable stories to discover clues to meaning, pupils can easily follow and begin to interpret the language.
