Thinking Through History will assist you to:
Thinking Through History addresses the teaching and learning of history as well as the ways in which you, as a teacher, can promote effective learning. This valuable resource will enable teachers throughout your school to create history lessons that will excite and inspire students, helping to improve their performance and enjoyment of history as a subject.
The strategy exemplars have been trialled and written up by fifteen classroom teachers: some experienced heads of department, others with a few years under their belts and one or two in their first years of teaching. Each strategy is demonstrated through three exemplars which were developed for and trialled with classes of different age and ability. This demonstrates the inherent flexibility of each strategy, although the intentions and outcomes of using a particular strategy will vary with the age and ability of the class.
