Off site visits: emergencies
Teachers have a duty of care for the pupils in their charge during a visit to make sure that they are safe and healthy. They also have a common law duty to act in the same way as a reasonably prudent parent would. In an extreme situation, teachers should not hesitate to act and to take lifesaving action.
