Status and regulation of governing bodies

The governing body is a corporate body, which means that it has a legal identity that is separate from that of its members. Individual governors generally have no personal liability resulting from its decisions and actions, so long as they act honestly, reasonably and in good faith. Governing bodies are charities with exempt status.
