Gain confidence in managing performance through using coaching skills, drawing on evidence and negotiating SMART targets.
Give participants the opportunity to reflect on the effect of peer observation on teaching and learning, build evaluation into the protocol and consider how to share their learning with colleagues.
Participants review their lesson observations and the feedback process. What future developments are planned for peer observation and how does this relate to professional learning and whole-school issues?
Following their pre-observation meetings, participants consider the important role that feedback plays, and agree a process to be integrated into the developing protocol. In addition, they finalise their plans for the first observation.
Make decisions about an approach to peer observation that is suited to participants and the school. Using a collaborative approach, begin to develop a joint protocol to clarify responsibilities and consider important aspects of peer observation, including focus, method and scope.
