
Jeremy Bird
Jeremy is an experienced and successful primary headteacher. He left headship in 2014 to be involved full-time in school improvement, working with a range of schools including special and independent schools, as well as undertaking local authority work in Solihull.
Jeremy is a dynamic, pro-active leader. He has particular expertise in headteacher induction and training while also being committed to empowering staff at all levels to take ownership using coaching and mentoring techniques.
- Advised, led and supported a stepping up programme for aspirational deputy and assistant headteachers exploring headteacher opportunities
- Produced ‘Firefighting or Formulating?’, a nationally accredited research study for the National College exploring the strategic and operational aspects of headteacher induction in primary schools
- Working with schools in a variety of contexts to improve their monitoring strategies, resulting in more robust evaluation of school performance
