
Julie Armstrong-Gregson
Julie has over 33 years experience in education in a variety of roles, including being a member of the senior leadership team in a secondary school with responsibility for wider-community education programmes. Julie also undertook local authority advisory work for Northumberland County Council working with pre-schools, first, middle and high schools. She was the Research UK Manager at the Science Learning Centre North East and Ofsted and Partnership ITE Lead at the University of Sunderland.
Julie has organised best practice workshops for Ofsted, has experience of public speaking at conferences in a variety of topics, most recently in relation to her research into teacher resilience and wellbeing. Julie also has experience of working with overseas schools, mentoring and coaching trainee teachers. She is also a school governor and has experience of A level examining and moderating.
- Working with an independent secondary MAT (who offer support to young people who are experiencing family or placement breakdown or other significant interruptions in their lives) who has schools in Scotland, Carlisle and Leeds to develop a robust governance structure
- Working strategically with a Northumberland first school to progress from an Ofsted ‘RI’ grading to good and outstanding
- Ofsted consultant for Durham University, quality-assuring succession planning in primary and secondary ITE provision, on campus, in partnership SCITTs, through the assessment only route and in overseas partnership schools
